Description

Incomparable Steam

Unlike Juup's basic models, Havu does not prioritize fast heating, but rather maximum sauna enjoyment. It is an excellent choice for public saunas, shared use, or home saunas where long sauna sessions are desired.

With HAVU, the steam never runs out.

Juup Iivari Havu has been developed for saunas where more is demanded from the stove. The open, net-like stone basket allows for a total stone mass of approximately 150 kg. A larger stone mass produces softer, more humid, and longer-lasting steam.

New Generation

Designed and handcrafted in Finland. The Juup Iivari collection is the next generation after the Original, born from the genuine needs of our customers. Like its predecessor, Juup Iivari offers versatile steam, but it is better suited for medium-sized sauna rooms. The heater is robustly built and thus serves its users for decades.

Iivari heaters come standard with a glass door. The walnut wood handles shown in the pictures are available at an additional cost.

Versatile steam

We wanted to develop a stove that provides the best and most versatile steam possible. Our inspiration has been the long, humid, and soft steam of traditional smoke saunas.

The 'secret' to smoke sauna steam lies in how the stones are heated. The stones at the bottom get incredibly hot, while the surface stones remain relatively cool throughout the sauna session. When water is thrown onto the stones, it doesn't immediately evaporate from the surface stones but flows down to the bottom of the stone bed where evaporation occurs. As this steam travels through the cooler stones, a condensation process begins, which softens and humidifies the steam.

In Juup stoves, the stones are directly above the firebox in a "stone bowl." This way, the stones heat up quickly, and every single drop of water thrown onto them evaporates into the sauna. The stones at the bottom heat up first and stay hot throughout the sauna session, just like in a smoke sauna.

The stones on the surface of the stone bowl heat up slowly, allowing for different types of steam to be produced during the sauna session. Any water that doesn't evaporate upon contact with the hot stones flows down to the bottom of the bowl and gradually evaporates. This results in soft, humid, and long-lasting steam.

By adjusting the stove's temperature and the amount of water, you can create exactly the kind of steam you prefer. Crisp steam is created by frequently throwing small amounts of water onto the hot stones at the edges. If you prefer soft and humid steam, you can pour a larger amount of water onto cooler stones. This creates steam bath-like conditions.
